These talks are our ongoing commitment to each other as practitioners of an ancient art that has been handed down kanohi ki te kanohi (face to face) for thousands of years. It is our hope that the intrinsic nature of weaving, the communal maintenance of this ancient art is propagated and kept alive for many generations to come.

Modern life has meant that many of the people are no longer able to live communally in the ways that they used to and so these arts can be neglected, by using modern tools to stay connected and continue the conversation until we are able to be face to face, we create a rich hub of dialogue, a warm place of refuge for isolated weavers and a basket of knowledge that has the potential to enrich weavers long after we have left the planet.

Please join us if creating beautiful objects from the surrounding environment and sharing in the rich culture and history of our ancestors is something that resonates with you, and please get in touch if you would like to join the conversation. We are only to happy to welcome other artists and practitioners to the circle.
